Original GLOW star Beckie Mullen has sadly died aged 55.
The former wrestler – who starred as Sally The Farmer’s Daughter on the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling show in the 1980s – has lost her battle with stage for cancer, as confirmed by her daughter Brittani Rabay.
TMZ has reported that Beckie passed away earlier this week in Palm Springs after being diagnosed from liver and colon cancer in October.
It’s said she was given a short prognosis, with the disease in the most advanced stage.
Her daughter said: ‘She fought as long as she could.’
Beckie’s mother Jackie added that she had been suffering before her passing and is in a better place now.
She was an original member of GLOW’s 1986 season, and the iconic women’s wrestling promotion inspired a Netflix drama based on its namesake.
The show – which stars the likes of Alison Brie, Marc Maron and Betty Gilpin – based its fictional characters on the stars, and is set for a fourth and final season after launching in 2017.
Following her wrestling career, Beckie appeared in acting roles on the likes of Married With Children, MadTV, Pacific Blue and Renegade.
As well as her guest appearances on the small screen, the star also appeared on music videos including the Van Halen hit Poundcake.
GLOW has paid tribute to Beckie after her passing, and hailed her as a ‘spark of energy’.
They said in a statement: ‘RIP to a GLOW Original! It is with a sad heart that we share the passing of Beckie Mullen (Sally The Farmers Daughter) to our GLOW family.
‘She was a spark of energy and will be missed much by her friends and fans.’
TMZ added: ‘We’ve spoken with several former GLOW wrestlers who worked with Beckie and are devastated by the news. Beckie was clearly well-liked amongst her peers.’
