Best new eyeliners to create the perfect flick

Is your eyeliner not performing as well as it could be?

Maybe you've had it so long it's gone dry, or perhaps you just can't sharpen the tip to precise perfection.

It might be time to treat yourself to one of these new ones – which promise to make creating flicks and drawing thin lines easier than ever.

Whether you prefer to use a gel, a liquid or a pencil, there's a formula to suit everyone – and these new launches have been tried and tested by the Notebook beauty team and scored best of the bunch.

See for yourself…

1. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Eye Pencil, £13.50

Beauty writer Zoe says : ‘For those with sensitive skin, this promises not to aggravate the eye area. I like that it was smudgeable, and it didn’t end up in my waterline. Very nice and long lasting.’

2. Kat Von D Cake Pencil, £17

Beauty director Lynne says: ‘This intensely pigmented pencil is fab. You get a few seconds to blend and soften it, then it sets fast. The black is very rock chic, and the brown is an easy-on-the-eye smokey look.’

3. Too Faced Better Than Sex Liner, £18

Zoe says: ‘ This range’s mascara is my favourite product in my make-up bag, and this will be joining it. No smudging, easy to apply (even right on the lash line), and it dried quickly to a jet black line. Love it.’

4. GOSH Slanted Pro Liner, £6.99

Zoe says: ‘I can never draw even flicks, so the slanted nib was perfect as it helped create the wing shape. The tip was thin, so the look was precise, not blotchy. It claims to stay on for 12 hours and it almost did.’

5. L’Oréal Paris Flash Cat Eye, £8.99

Lynne says: ‘A godsend if you can’t get your liner to match up, as this one comes with a stencil you hold against the edge of your eye and then fill in. No more lopsided, wonky flicks! The nib is skinny enough to get right into the lash line too.’
