Cannes 2019: Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan get the coolest tribute from Amul – view pic | Bollywood Life

Cannes fever has officially taken over India and we can vouch for it as India’s popular and oldest dairy brand Amul has paid a hearwarming tribute to two of the most stunning actresses of Bollywood – Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Amul is known for it’s butter and more famously for it’s cartoon posters that feature the Amul girl. Through the years, these cartoons have been recognised for their quirky take on the most trending topic of the time and it is considered as a milestone to feature on one of these cartoons. So, when our beloved DP and Ash appeared on the brand’s latest poster, we couldn’t help but smile broadly.

Yes, it’s not just us who is following the Cannes fashion extravaganza but even serious businessmen was the thought that struck us. Agreed that the cartoon is not made by the owner of Amul, but even for the cartoonist of the dairy brand to consider the actresses worthy of paying a tribute to is something, no? So, as we watched the who’s who of Hollywood and Bollywood walk the red carpet all dolled up beauties like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor, Diana Penty and Huma Qureshi made us proud by not just ruling the red carpet of the esteemed film festival but also making some amazing style statements. Be it Deepika’s lime green gown with quirky ruffles or Ash’s golden metallic-mermaid gown or Sonam’s all white tuxedo, the ladies rocked the 72nd Cannes film festival and how! We salute them for their bold yet quirky fashion statements.

In the poster, the Amul girl has donned Deepika’s and Aishwarya’s Lime-green and golden-metallic gowns with the words, “Gori Tera Gaon Bada Nyaara” written on top. The brand’s official handle shared this cartoon with the caption, “#Amul Topical: Deepika and Aishwarya make fashion waves at Cannes!” Have a look at the coolest tribute here:

Meanwhile, on the work front, these beauties are ready to rule the silver screens in Bollywood. Deepika Padukone will be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak opposite Vikrant Massey. The film is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were to star in Anurag Kashyap’s Gulab Jamun but due to unknown reasons, the film was shelved. As per a Mid Day report, both Junior Bachchan and Ash could be a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s long overdue project based on the poets, Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam but there is no confirmation on that front either.

As for the other stunners at Cannes, Priyanka Chopra, she has completed Shonali Bose’s directorial – The Sky Is Pink which is based on Aisha Choudhary, a motivational speaker who was diagnosed with SCID – Severe combined Immuno-Deficiency in which smallest of disease could kill patients. PeeCee will play Aisha’s mother while Aisha will be played by Zaira Wasim of Secret Superstar and Dangal fame. Apart from PeeCee and Zaira, the film also stars Farhan Akhtar and Rohit Saraf.

On the other hand, Kangana is all set for Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga and Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya alongside Rajkummar Rao. Sonam Kapoor will be seen in The Zoya Factor alongside Dulquer Salman. Meanwhile, Huma Qureshi was last seen in Dobaara: See Your Evil alongside brother Saqib Saleem. And Diana Penty was last seen in Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi.
