Chris Harrison Is ‘Stepping Aside’ from ‘The Bachelor’ Amid Racism Controversy, Will Not Host ‘After the Final Rose’ Special

Chris Harrison has announced that he will be stepping aside from The Bachelor for a period of time while he reflects and learns from the current racism controversy.

It all started earlier this week when Chris defended The Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell against claims that she had been racist in her past behavior. He said that the “woke police” was out to get her and that there is a difference in how one behaves in 2018 vs. in 2021.

Chris later apologized for his words, but the damage was done and former The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay (who was interviewing the host in the original interview) says that she is leaving the franchise when her current contract is over.

Now, Chris has released another apology and says he will take a break from the show. He also will not be hosting the upcoming After the Final Rose special for Matt James‘ season.
