Chris Hughes has broken his silence on his ex-girlfriend Jesy Nelson's first solo single since leaving Little Mix, Boyz, and the controversy surrounding it.
The 28 year old began dating Jesy, 30, in January 2019, but the pair sadly split in April 2020 after 16 months together.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, former Love Island star Chris – who has partnered with M&M's as their Chief Scare Officer to help people scare responsibly this Halloween – has now touched on his ex's single for the first time.
He said: "I haven't seen too much about it. I don’t really use Twitter and on Instagram you don’t see so much in terms of the news so I haven’t seen or read too much into it. I wouldn’t be able to comment.
"I’ve heard the single on the radio. It’s different but in this day and age I think that’s good.
"No matter what industry or line of work you’re in it’s always good to do things different and the song sounded good to me on the radio."
On his role as M&M's Chief Scare Officer, Chris continued: "I absolutely hate being scared and we essentially want people to have more fun but less gore this Halloween.
"Covid wiped out Halloween last year so we think everyone’s going to go really extra this year in terms of scaring people but that comes with a risk because people can be fatally frightened."
Giving his top tips for a scare-free Halloween, he added: "Don’t jump out at people because that’s a real heart rate raiser, don’t scream above a decibel of 85 and when you’re decorating your house, don’t use really scary and gory scenes, just get a nice pumpkin. Just don’t go too over the top and look after the elderly.
"I hate being made to jump, I have actual phobias of snakes and spiders but you obviously don’t get many of those at Halloween.

"People jumping out at me is a no-go. From being a kid, my reaction has always been to throw my arms everywhere. I lash out in a friendly way! That’s why I’m Chief Scare Officer, I know what people don’t like."
Teasing that he may dress up with girlfriend Annabel Dimmock, he said: "I could do a couples' outfit with Annabel this year.
"You get all sorts of couples outfits these day, people try and be very scary but we could be something nice like cookies and milk.
"I don’t know how Halloween that is though. But if me and Annabel go to a party we will definitely match.
"I wanted to be Michael Myers but he’s actually pretty scary so that kind of goes against me being Chief Scare Officer.
"If I saw that coming down the street I’d have to put my hi-vis on and go on duty and explain why it’s so scary. The costume that scares me the most is the Scream mask, I don’t think there’s anything more scary than that."
