Cynthia Erivo has a shot at becoming the youngest-ever person to achieve an EGOT!
EGOT refers to someone who has won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony – all four major awards, which represent television, music, film, and theatre.
Cynthia, 33, just earned two Oscar nominations for her work in the movie Harriet – Best Actress and Best Original Song for writing “Stand Up.”
For her work in the Broadway musical The Color Purple, Cynthia won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program in 2017, a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album in 2017, and a Tony for Best Lead Actress in a Musical in 2016.
John Legend is currently the youngest EGOT winner ever. He was 39 when he won an Emmy, his final award of the four.
