Elliot Wright has announced the devastating loss of his pet dog less than a month after his restaurant in Spain was burned down.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star shared the sad news on his Instagram stories as he paid tribute to his furry friend who passed away on Tuesday.

The 41 year old shared a touching photo of the adored family pet who looked to be a beautiful boxer who laid content on the grass in their garden during the summer months.

He wrote on top of the photo of his loving pet: “R.I.P my little poppy .. you will be missed sorely.

“Up there with grandad now .. sleep well, thank you for being such a beautiful soul x”

He went on to share another adorable shot of his four legged pooch looking up lovingly into his 10 year old daughter’s eyes.

Last month, the father of three shared a distressing video on his Instagram stories as he announced the shocking news that his restaurant business in Marbella had been burnt to the ground.

Elliott shared a photograph of the exterior of the restaurant, Olivia’s La Cala, completely blackened, with debris strewn where the eatery stood and spilling out onto the road as a “Bomberos” (firefighters) tape is wrapped outside the building.

The Essex father bravely wrote: “So I will get this out there as no doubt this news will spread fast … unfortunately it’s with regret that @olivias_la_cala had a fire in the early hours of this morning…

“It’s too soon to say why, all that matter is it has. More importantly in life you get tested … it’s been a very testing couple of years .. especially recently .. but if you know me, you know I will rise from this …

“I will rebuild it big and better than before .. I will never be beaten.”

Despite the devastating news, Elliott has vowed he will rebuild and relaunch his beloved business and restore it to its former glory once more.

This comes after the family recover from the loss of Eddie’s father, also named Eddie, who sadly died of coronavirus last month after eight weeks of battling the virus, just weeks before his business went up in flames.

Elliott’s cousin, Mark Wright paid a touching tribute to his father on Heart radio as the former The Only Way Is Essex star shed a tear for his late uncle live on air.

The TV personality told The Sun: “Covid tore my family apart and it’s not going to be the same again. I could have lost them all. I’m struggling to cope with this.”
