Holly Willoughby quits ITV’s This Morning after 14 years
Holly Willoughby reportedly “never got over” her fallout with friend and her ex This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield earlier this year.
The pair’s friendship came to an end when he left the show back in May after coming clean about an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a young runner on the show.
Phillip said he reached out to Holly after his exit and didn’t receive a reply. Later, he and his daughters unfollowed her on Instagram.
Holly also issued a statement about his exit, saying she felt “hurt” and “let down” by him.
After announcing her exit from the show last night, a source claimed she “hasn’t been the same” since she and Phil stopped talking.

They added she stayed on the show “out of loyalty” even though “the damage was done”.
Another told the Mail Online that she “misses” her co-host of 14 years.
They continued: “You wonder if she regrets the fallout – look at everything that has happened as a result. It’s really sad.”
Holly’s shock exit comes after a tough year, which has included her and Phillip being accused of skipping the queue to see the late Queen Elizabeth II lying in state, a family member dying, an NTA snub and her fallout with Phil.
Most recently, police rumbled an alleged plot to have Holly kidnapped and killed.
Following the news, Phillip is said to have reached out to Holly offering a hand of support.

According to The Mirror, a source said Holly was “really happy” to hear from him after five months of silence.
They added: “Holly and Phil’s friendship was so close before the events of this year.
“Phil’s decision to reach out, and the welcome it has been received with by Holly, shows that there is still a bond there.”
The pair had presented the show together since 2009, when she replaced Fern Britton.
Following Phillip’s exit, she continued to host the show with multiple co-stars including Craig Doyle and Ben Shephard.
On Instagram last night, Holly announced she had stepped down from the show.
As part of a lengthy statement, she wrote: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.
“To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much.
“This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.
“Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.
“Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.”
