Jason Derulo ‘punches man’ in Las Vegas club after he calls him Usher

Jason Derulo has reportedly punched a man during a confrontation in Las Vegas.

The singer, 32, is said to have been involved in a scuffle in the early hours of Tuesday 4 January morning when a man yelled at him and called him by the name of fellow pop star Usher.

The man allegedly shouted at Jason: “Hey, Usher, F*** you, b**ch!”.

A video of the incident published by TMZ seems to show Jason taking offence to this and running over to the man and ending up in a scuffle, while another man who appears to be Jason’s bodyguard tries to defuse the situation.

Eyewitnesses at the scene told the publication that the altercation occurred after a group passed Jason on the escalator, with one of them calling him by the name of rival singer Usher.

Las Vegas police confirmed in a statement that an altercation was reported after 2 a.m. at a nightclub at the Aria resort and that Derulo “committed a battery against two individuals.”

No injuries were reported by police, who said no police report was taken because the people involved did not want to prosecute.

OK! has contacted reps for Jason Derulo.

A spokesperson for the Aria resort declined to comment.

The incident comes after Jason announced that he had separated from the mother of his seven year old son.

Jason announced he had split from ex Jena Frumes in September, bringing an end to their relationship of approximately 18 months.

Jason and Jena started dating in March 2020 and welcomed their son Jason King on 8 May last year.

At the time he took to Twitter to ask fans for privacy following the break-up.

The singer tweeted: "Jena and I have decided to part ways. She is an amazing mother but we feel being apart at this time will allow us to be the best versions of ourselves and the best parents we could be.

"Pls respect our privacy in this time."
