John Travolta took to social media last week to share a sweet update with his fans. The 67-year-old actor could be seen spending time with his pet pooch, one year after the death of his wife Kelly Preston.

The American actress died at the couple’s home in Florida in July 2020 at the age of 57.

Kelly had been diagnosed with breast cancer two years previously.

Last week the Grease star shared a picture of himself as he relaxed in bed with his four-legged friend.

The adorable pooch could be seen nuzzling up to his neck.

“Some dogs are just so lovely,” he captioned the photo, which he posted online in view of his 3.6 million followers.

The actor was then inundated with replies from fans.

“Dogs literally are the best!” one follower replied.

“Man’s best friend,” a second added.

Others wanted to know more about the pup, with one suggesting that it was a Miniature Pinscher while another thought it could be a Prague Ratter.

During a recent interview with Kevin Hart, John spoke about the loss of his wife and how his children were coming to terms with the death of their mother.

He told the host that his ten-year-old son was worried that he would die as well.

“He said to me once, ‘Because mom passed away. I’m afraid you’re going to’.”

The actor gave his son a very honest reply.

“I said, ‘But you know, Ben… you always love the truth and I’m going to tell you the truth about life. Nobody knows when they’re gonna go or when they’re going to stay.

“‘Your brother [Jett] left at 16. Too young. Your mother left at 57. That was too young. But who’s to say? I could die tomorrow. You could. Anybody can.

“‘So let’s look at it like it’s part of life. You don’t know exactly. You just do your best at trying to live the longest you can.'”

Back in June, John marked Father’s Day by sharing a sweet family photo with his children Ben and Ella Bleu, 21.

He said that it was a “privilege” to be their dad.

John and Kelly were also parents to eldest son Jett.

The youngster, who had autism and is said to have suffered regular seizures, died in 2009.

Last month, proud dad John revealed that his daughter had landed the lead role in a live-action adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.

He posted a behind-the-scenes snap of her on the picture-sharing site.

“Here’s my daughter Ella starring in a live action re-imagining of Alice in Wonderland! Called, ‘Get Lost’.

“I’m a very proud dad!” he added.
