Karen Hauer transforms signature pixie crop into stunning curls ahead of Strictly return

Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer Karen Hauer was seen leaving rehearsals ahead of the 2022 series, sporting a brand new hairstyle.

The Venezuelan dancer, 40, usually sports a cropped pixie cut but was seen wearing her hair in longer curls as she left a gruelling dance rehearsal ahead of the BBC series show returning next month.

Karen opted for a casual look, wearing her new hairstyle with gym shorts and a crop top, pairing her look with a large, red satchel bag and a pair of white trainers.

A string of celebrities have been announced for the 2022 series, including presenter Fleur East , Loose Women star Kaye Adams, Britain's Got Talent's Molly Rainford and Coronation Street star Kym Marsh.

Also joining this year's series are Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, comedian Jayde Adams, radio broadcaster Richie Anderson, radio DJ Tyler West, singer Matt Goss and comedian Ellie Taylor.

Karen joined Strictly as a professional dancer in 2012 and has returned to the show every year since.

On this year's show she'll be joined by four new professional dancers, creating the show’s largest ever roster.

It was previously announced that European cup winner Vito Coppola, Chinese National Champion Carlos Gu, former Under 21 British National Champion Lauren Oakley and Latin dance champion Michelle Tsiakkas will join the programme.

The pro dancers already revealed as taking part include Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer and Katya Jones.

Katya's ex Neil Jones will also be back alongside Nikita Kuzmin, Cameron Lombard, Gorka Marquez and Luba Mushtuk.

The popular BBC series previously announced that preparation for the 2022 series is well and truly underway, with recording for the launch show set to take place on Wednesday 7 September.

Confirming the news, the broadcaster said: “The stunning 20th series returns, bringing glamour and show-stopping dancing back to Saturday nights on BBC One – and we’re extremely excited to be able to welcome an audience back to the studio for this year’s shows.”
