Kate Ferdinand break social media silence after giving birth to baby boy to pay tribute to a friend

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Kate Ferdinand was reported to have given birth to her first child on Friday 18 December.

The wife of footballer Rio Ferdinand welcomed a baby boy into the world, a source told OK! Online.

The child is Rio's fourth, as he is also father to Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, nine, who Kate has become stepmother to as their mother Rebecca passed away from cancer back in 2015.

And now Kate, 29, has broken her silence since the birth of her first born.

Taking to Instagram the stunning star shared a tribute to her “special” friend with her 1.3 million followers on the platform.

The star shared two snaps of herself and a friend looking very glamorous and she wished her a happy birthday in the Instagram story.

She added: “We all love you very much, thank you for being you x."

Kate and Rio are yet to address reports that they’ve welcomed their first child together, and fans are left eagles awaiting the name announcement.

The blonde bombshell did not have an easy pregnancy, as she previously revealed she tore her stomach muscles and had to rest for three weeks.

During an Instagram Q&A the star, who recently admitted she wouldn't be putting any pressure on herself to lose weight after the birth, told her fans it was a “difficult” time.

Sharing a snap of herself looking stunning in a black tube dress inside her envy-inducing wardrobe room, Kate explained: "I'm surprisingly not feeling too bad the last few weeks.

"I'm tired but have been feeling much better."

Later on during the Q&A Kate revealed how she was still exercising during her pregnancy despite her injury forcing her to take it easy.

Alongside a snap of herself in work-out gear in the gym, she wrote: “I have trained for the majority of my pregnancy: Pilates and light gym work.

“But after tearing my muscles I was advised to rest so I did that for 3 weeks and am now just taking it easy & walking daily as I don't want to damage anything further.

“It is advised to stay active so I'm trying to keep moving as much as possible.”
