I've had a really chilled week this week. I went out for dinner with Charlie at the weekend to Pircio Restaurant in Bishops Stortford, which was lovely. The baby is all fine, but getting bigger and heavier and I've been feeling uncomfortable. Sleeping has been especially hard for me, because I've been waking up a lot during the night. I understand I'm growing a human, but I just don't know how some pregnant women go to work through their whole pregnancy – hats off to them! Not that I've been feeling bad the whole time, but I've gone through stages of feeling tired and then having energy spurts. I need to start my birthing plan soon, so I'll let you all know once I've decided what I'm going to do.
A HAPPY FAMILY
I'm going to my Dad's birthday gathering in his garden this weekend. He normally has quite a big birthday party, but because of coronavirus it's scaled down this year. I've been seeing that side of the family a lot more now I'm pregnant, and a baby has obviously brought us closer together. My sisters have been messaging me saying they can't wait to babysit my little girl and it's nice that they will be involved in my baby's life, after all we've been through over the years. My Dad's excited to be a grandad, even though he's not the soppy type, I can tell – it is his first grandchild after all! My step-mum can't wait for her arrival too. It's lovely how it's all worked out.
MIXING IT UP
It was great news to hear Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock from Little Mix are expecting their first babies. It's so nice they'll have each other while pregnant. I've got a couple of friends who are pregnant at the same time as me, but at different stages. It's nice to talk about your emotions with each other and how you feel as you go along. I actually used to know Leigh-Anne and their former bandmate Jesy Nelson. I went to Leigh-Anne's birthday party a few years ago and Jesy came to my birthday party, back in 2013. They're really nice, normal girls and Jesy lives not too far from me, now. They've done well for themselves and I'm so happy for both Perrie and Leigh-Anne on their pregnancy news.
DOING IT AGAIN
This week Helen Flanagan said because she suffered with extreme sickness during her third pregnancy, it will be “a very long time” before she has another child. Luckily, I didn't have sickness that bad in my first trimester, but I felt nauseous and had vertigo. I only threw up at night, but I did get through it and it did pass. It's like a hangover, having a baby. Like when you wake up in the morning after drinking and think, “Why? I'm never doing that again!” And then you do do it again. But that's what it's like with having another baby, I imagine. I’ll probably say the same thing – “I’m never doing that again” after the birth and then I probably will, ha.
MY LOVE BUBBLE
Charlie and I are in a really good place at the moment. I’m loving cooking dinner and being the housewife, for now. He’s so excited for the baby and he messages me all day when he’s not with me. I’m so happy and good things are coming too. Who knows what the future holds, but how my life has changed in a year! There’s too much pressure to settle down quickly, but I’m living proof that it happens, when it happens.
