Love Island bosses have missed out on the chance to land Miss GB Kobi-Jean Cole after she decided to quit this year's show "out of respect for her title".
Mirror Online revealed this year's reigning Miss Great Britain, 23, was in talks with producers to become one of the sexy singles joining the show this summer.
However, it's now emerged that she has decided to back out.
The news was revealed by her personal trainer Matt Fiddes this evening.
In a post on Instagram , he wrote: "There were some discussions regarding inclusion in this series between Kobi and the producers of Love Island during their casting process…
"But it was decided that out of respect for her title and the Miss Great Britain brand she would not be taking part."
Her decision not to take part in the show comes three years after her predecessor Zara Holland was stripped of her Miss GB crown for having sex on Love Island.
Zara infuriated pageant bosses by romping on camera with fellow islander Alex Bowen, and they took away her title before she'd even left the villa.
She later admitted she regretted having sex on TV, saying: "The show was the best experience of my life, but at the same time it was the biggest regret of my life with what happened."
The former Miss GB added: "I would say to any contestants this series, don't do anything that you would regret later in life.”
“Sometimes things in the moment never leave you and it can be hard to get over. To put it down to one thing and it is still a fact now; I can't get away from what happened."
Kobi will almost certainly already know Zara as they competed in Miss GB together in 2015 – the year Zara won.
Love Island returns to TV on June 3.
