Lucy Alexander reveals gourmet 'New Year's Day treat'
Homes Under The Hammer star Lucy Alexander, 50, took to social media yesterday after waking up with a “positive mindset”. However, her good mood was tinged with disappointment, as the TV star went on to reveal that her first job of the year had been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The mum-of-two, who has spoken openly about her difficult year following the death of her mother to cancer in February, said being outside with one other person was “keeping her going” at the moment.
Lucy shared her thoughts in a lengthy post on Instagram, in view of her 46,700 followers.
In her accompanying picture, the blonde-haired beauty could be seen smiling for the camera in a casual zip-up jumper.
She snapped the selfie following a dog walk with a pal and spoke about looking after her mental health.

Lucy captioned her snap: “Woken up today with a positive mindset. Didn’t have a quality street for breakfast so winning.
“Gutted though my first job of 2021 has just cancelled due to the pandemic,” she added.
The presenter, who is mum to Kitty, 18, and Leo, 15, continued: “Took Teddy the dog. Met a friend & had a muddy woods walk and a belly laugh, now back home in my hoodie about to make lunch for me and ‘breakfast’ for the still in bed teenagers of the house (hmmm schools and uni’s are delaying so Lucy’s cafe will be running a week longer).
“Christmas decs are down and house is obviously full of pine needles that I keep stepping on but I’m happy to move forward now as Christmas was a long one this year for me!”
In an earlier post, Lucy said that the build-up to the festive season had been “especially hard” for her this year, as it was the first Christmas without her mum.
The TV star went on to wish her followers a “happy 2021” and encouraged them to get outside in nature.
“Have a good day guys … it’s sunny and crisp here in Surrey and I’m so grateful for my walking and talking for my mental health & just being outside with ‘one other’.
“It’s really what’s keeping me going!”
“Happy 2021,” she signed off, adding the hashtags: “#outsideisfree #mentalhealth #naturelover #walkingthedog #laughteristhebestmedicine.”

Many took to the comments section of her post to share their thoughts and thank the star for being ”open” with her feelings.
“Happy 2021 Lucy. Your daily walks and trips to Whitstable really brighten my day and keep me going. Thank you for being so open,” one follower remarked.
“That’s so lovely to hear,” Lucy replied.
“You look stunning!! Loved u when u were on homes under the hammer how do u do it your getting younger looking,”(sic) a second added.
“Please come back to Homes Under The Hammer,” a third person pleaded.
“I miss it too,” the former host remarked.
Lucy presented the long-running BBC property show from 2003 to 2016, although she appeared on the programme for a further two years because of the way it is filmed.
She has stayed in contact with her former co-host Martin Roberts after years of working together on the show.
