Friends star Matthew Perry who was found dead "after drowning in his jacuzzi at home", tragically posted his last picture of himself on Instagram with his father just two weeks ago.
In the snap, the actor, 54, who wore tracksuit bottoms and a polo shirt, smiled with John, 82, as they held cups of fizzy drinks. He captioned his post: "Here is me, and my father John, both holding a beverage."
Just two weeks later, police were called to his home over reports of a cardiac arrest- sources told US media that Matthew had drowned at home and no foul play was suspected.
Although he had been open about his struggles with addiction in the past, no drugs were found at the scene.
In his life, Matthew became a global star because of the sitcom Friends, playing Chandler Bing and starring alongside Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer.
He followed in his father's footsteps getting into the acting profession and even featured in an episode of the show with him.
In a 1998 episode, called The One With Rachel's New Dress, John played the father of Tay Donovan's character Joshua, Rachel's boyfriend.
Last year, Matthew released his memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, opening up on his time spent in hospital in a coma due to drug abuse and struggling with addiction on Friends.
He said in the book: "I loved everything about the show but I was struggling with my addictions which only added to my sense of shame."
"If I didn't get the laugh I was supposed to get I would freak out."I felt that every single night. This pressure left me in a bad place. I also knew of the six people making that show, only one of them was sick."
Since his death, friends co-stars Maggie Wheeler and Morgan Fairchild have paid tribute to Matthew. Maggie, who played Janice Hosenstein, Chandler's on-off girlfriend in the early series, shared her heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
"What a loss," she wrote alongside a picture of them together. "The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on."
Morgan, who portrayed Chandler's mother Nora Bing in the show, expressed her sorrow on Twitter. "I'm heartbroken about the untimely death of my 'son', Matthew Perry." she tweeted.
She added: "The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock."
