Prince George may be called a different name when he becomes King due to royal tradition.
The young Prince, who is currently second in line to the throne, could be called something else when he becomes King as many previous monarchs have opted to be crowned with a different name.
The ancient unwritten royal rule could see the future King George picking another name as previous members of the Firm have chosen to be formally sworn in using their middle names instead.
King Charles III could have chosen to rename himself as King Arthur or King Philip due to them being his middle names in what is known, once coronated, as the monarch's Regnal name.
However, King Charles decided to stick with his given first name for his reign.
The late Queen Elizabeth II also stuck with her birth name rather than change and pick one of her middle names Alexandra and Mary.
There has been some speculation that ten-year-old George may one day opt to follow the ancient tradition and change his Regnal name.
He could go for King Alexander or King Louis, which are both his middle names although Louis is less likely as it's the name of his little brother.
It was originally suggested that the now King Charles would change his name.
Former Buckingham Palace press spokesman Dickie Arbiter told the BBC in 2005 that by using the name George, Charles would be paying tribute to both his grandparents, King George VI and the Queen Mother.
However he chose not to follow the tradition.
Unlike when the Queen's father, whose given name was Albert but was known as Bertie, became King, he chose the regnal name George, and therefore held the title of King George VI.
Prince William may one day choose a new regnal name when he becomes King – perhaps Arthur, Philip, or Louis, or George, but if he keeps William, he would be known as King William V.
Prince George is now being trained for the important future role that lies ahead of him.
He has been making a number of regular appearances alongside his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, in recent months to prepare him for his busy life of royal service.
While there has been huge amounts of change for younger royals like Prince George in the last year, there will be a number of even more significant alterations to come.
Looking ahead to when Prince William is on the throne, Prince George looks set to become the 28th Prince of Wales.
While he will immediately become The Duke of Cornwall, the new King will have to grant George the Prince of Wales title.
