Rylan Clark-Neal left his BBC co-star Sam Quek in hysterics after pranking Strictly Come Dancing 2021 contestant Ugo Monye. The rugby player was sitting alongside his pro partner, Oti Mabuse, during It Takes Two when Rylan suggested he had a surprise for them.

Having portrayed a classic scene from the film Moana on Movie Week, Rylan suggested they would receive a surprise from Hollywood actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who starred as the voice of Maui.

However, the host quickly went back on his words, explaining that Dwayne never replied to Strictly’s “pleas”.

Rylan said: “We thought you did put a lot into it, so we wanted to give you something in return…

“The wig?” Ugo swiftly replied, as Rylan said: “No it’s not the wig!”

Rylan continued: “We know how much this dance meant to you and we thought why don’t we get a message from Maui himself…”

Ugo and Oti looked hopeful and surprised, but Rylan went on to deliver the bad news.

He said: “So we reached out to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and… he ignored our pleas.”

The pair were left in hysterics, but Rylan interrupted to deliver the real surprise.

The host said: “So instead I stayed up last night and I thought I’d make you something nice.

“I made you your own rock of Ugo, it’s the next best thing!” he added, handing him a rock with a face painted on it.

Ugo replied: “Honestly it was one of those This Is Your Life moments!”

BBC Strictly shared a clip of the hilarious moment with its 841,000 followers.

Olympian and TV personality Sam Quek was one of many Twitter users to reveal their amusement over the scenes.

She branded Rylan “brutal” for making such a cheeky joke.

The Olympian wrote: “@Rylan Absolute brutal! But so, so funny!”

“Unlucky Ugo,” she added, along with some laughing face emojis.

juliearose agreed: “I laughed so much at this. Ugo and Oti are so funny together.

“He has a great personality and I’m loving how natural Queen Oti is.”

ksj20111970 added: “The most hilarious thing I’d seen in ages.

“Hook, line and sinker.”
