Tom Daley will be making his own Christmas speech this Saturday. Giving the Queen a run for her money, the Olympian will be broadcasting the Alternative Christmas Message on Channel 4 at 3pm, the same time as the Queen will deliver her annual Christmas speech via other major broadcasters.
The Olympic gold medallist will say: “I am incredibly lucky that I can live my life as an out gay man, my family, friends, fellow divers, and my coaches have all been amazingly supportive.
“Mostly they don’t care, because it doesn’t change who I am to them. I’m deliberately myself and this is just extra info.
“So what, who cares who’s gay anymore, right?”
Tom Daley came out to the world in 2013 via a YouTube video.
At the time, he was already in a relationship with the man he would go on to marry, Dustin Lance Black.
Who is Tom Daley’s husband?
Dustin Black is an American film and television producer, director and screenwriter.
In 2008 the 47-year-old won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the biopic, Milk.
Dustin grew up in a Mormon and military community in Texas and has been outspoken about his difficulties growing up as a gay man.
He is a founding board member of the American Foundation for Equal Rights and is a prominent LGBTQ+ rights activist.
Dustin Black’s website states that the foundation “successfully led the federal cases for marriage equality in California and Virginia, putting an end to California’s discriminatory Proposition 8″.
The pair met at a mutual friend’s dinner in Los Angeles in 2013 and began dating soon after.
Dustin said in 2016 that when he met his future husband, it was love at first sight.

The couple announced they were engaged in October 2015.
They married in May 2017 in a Shakespeare-themed ceremony at Bovey Castle in Devon.
In February 2018, the couple announced they would be having a child together via surrogacy.
They now have a son, Robert Ray Daley Black, born in June 2018, or ‘Robbie’ for short.
Speaking in November, Tom said: “He’s so amazing. He’s three and a half now, coming up four.
“It’s so special to have a little buddy that you can just take with you to do things and see things through a new set of eyes.
“I’m loving doing things I would have never been able to do without our son – things that perhaps may look a bit weird doing as an adult – but if I take my little buddy along I can get away with anything!”
