Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War took a gigantic opening at box office as it raked in around Rs 50 crore on its first day at the ticket windows. Despite facing competition from Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Hollywood biggie Joker, the action entertainer recorded an earth shattering figures and here’s the compilation of the milestones, which War achieved on its opening day at the box office.

The mega-budget venture shattered the opening day collection of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Bharat to emerge the biggest opener of the year.

All-time second biggest opener

The Siddharth Anand directorial venture also became the second biggest Bollywood opener of all-time after Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s Thugs Of Hindostan. Interestingly, this film was also bankrolled by YRF and Hrithik Roshan was the first choice to play Aamir Khan’s character in the film.

The film clashed with mega-budget south venture Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy starring Chiranjeevi, Amitabh Bachchan, Vijay Sethupathi, Kichcha Sudeepa, Jagapathi Babu, Tamabnaah Bhatia and Nayanthara and Hollywood biggie Joker. Despite facing competition from them, it created history at the box office.
