She had properties worth ₹1.73 crore
The Department of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has booked a case against G. Josephine R. Little Flower, former registrar of Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to known sources of income.
She was appointed as deputy registrar of the council in July 2003 and later appointed as registrar in 2004. As per decision of the council, she was permitted to take up appointment as nursing adviser to the Union Ministry Health and Family Welfare and served in the position on deputation until March 21, 2017.
According to the FIR, the accused Dr. Josephine had no other source of income available except her salary and other emoluments.
The accused purchased a luxury apartment at Metro Zone, Anna Nagar West, worth around ₹1 crore in her daughter J. Benita’s name and two grounds of vacant plot in Okkiyam Thoraipakkam worth around ₹90 lakh in the name of her father M. Gnanamuthu.
Fixed deposits
She had fixed deposits in three accounts.
The accused acquired and possessed properties to the tune of ₹1.73 crore, which was disproportionate to known sources of income during the check period from August 2009 to December 2016, the FIR alleged.
