The final nomination list for the 95th Oscars will be released this evening
Oscar Award: Considered to be the highest award in world cinema, the Oscars are awarded in various categories including Best Picture, Best Actor, Actress, etc. In that way, the 95th Oscar award ceremony will be held on March 12 in Los Angeles, USA. In view of this, the work of finalizing the movies sent for selection in categories including Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress has reached its final stage.
The show will be aired at 7 PM IST. The event will be broadcast on the Academy’s websites as well as on the Academy’s social media accounts, including YouTube. The Oscars will be held at the Dolphy Theater in Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA. Allison Williams and Riz Ahmed will host the 95th Academy Awards
Why is it important for India?
This year’s Oscars are more important to Indians than previous years because four Indian films have made it to the final round of the Oscar shortlist.
Officially nominated for the Oscars by the Government of India, the Gujarati language film Chhello Showhas made it to the final round of nominations for the Best International Film Award. Helmed by Pan Nalin, the film is competing with different language films from 14 countries to make it to the final shortlist.
RRR- Naatu Naatu
SS Rajamouli’ RRR’s win for Naatu Naatu seems to be the most obvious win for the night. Notably, this song recently won a Golden Globe Award. MM Keeravani composed the song which is penned by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj.

‘All That Breathes’ helmed by Shaunak Sen talks about two brothers’ fascination with black kites and the long road to the Oscars. All That Breathes is nominated for Best Documentary. It won the Golden Award at the Cannes Film Festival last year.
The Elephant Whisperers
The Elephant Whisperers is nominated for Best Documentary Short. It explores the lives of a couple who spend time caring for a baby elephant named Raghu, creating an unlikely family.
