Uppena starring Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty, helmed by Buchi Babu Sana, was released recently and is doing superb collections at the box office. Though the movie Uppena which also has Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi in the crucial roles, was supposed to hit the theaters in the month of April last year but later the makers dropped the idea because of the Coronavirus Pandemic and the lockdown.
The film Uppena was given big deals by several OTT players but the makers did not get tempted and they decided to release the movie directly in the theaters and cinema halls. We have already reported that Netflix has bought the rights to Uppena. Now the sources close to the makers revealed that they have paid Rs 7 Cr for the OTT rights of Uppena.
Uppena is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers and it marks the debut of Vaishnav Tej in Telugu film Industry.
Recently Uppena helmer Buchi Babu signed two film deals with Mythri Movie Makers. It is also being heard that Krithi Shetty, will be seen in Lingusamy’s bilingual movie in which the young and energetic actor Ram Pothineni will play the lead role. After the release of Uppena, Krithi Shetty has become the latest sensation in Tollywood and she will be seen playing the female lead in Nani starrer Shyam Singha Roy.
