Payal Ghosh on being slammed for accusing Anurag Kashyap: A voice suppressed is a generation of women oppressed

Payal Ghosh recently accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. The Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi actress tweeted out and revealed that the Gangs of Wasseypur filmmaker forced himself on her. She sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s help for the same in her tweet and has even filed a complaint against Anurag Kashyap. However, the actress has received backlash as a lot of people who have worked with Anurag, have come out in support of the filmmaker. Taking to her Twitter handle, Payal expressed her anguish and pain over how the voice of women have been suppressed time and again.

“People blame women for everything and post smash the patriarchy. It’s time to stand with the women. Let them be heard. A voice suppressed is a generation of women oppressed. It’s 2020. Come on, India! #MeToo,” she tweeted out. She went on to slam people who accused her of using the Me Too movement as an opportunity saying, “People who are saying that it’s for politics and that I am misusing the situation. Imagine ( god forbid) your sister or daughter in my position, it can even be the mother.. and then let’s talk. You would go to war against such men. Isn’t it? PERIOD!!,” Have a dekko at Payal’s tweeted here:

Kangana Ranaut reacted to Payal’s allegations and said, “I far as I know Anurag self admittedly has never been monogamous even when he was married to various people, what Anurag did to Payal is a common practice in Bullywood, treating struggling outsider girls like sex workers comes naturally to them #AnuragKashyap #PayalGhosh.” Have a dekko at Kangana’s tweet here:

Anurag denied the allegations and his lawyer released a statement earlier today. “My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have recently surfaced against him. These allegations are completely false, malicious and dishonest,” the statement read.
