‘Enai Noki Paayum Thota’ will not release on September 6, as originally announced

‘Sivappu Manjal Pachai’ will release in its vacant slot, with Gautham Menon and team still hoping to release ‘ENPT’ on Saturday

Despite the best efforts of director Gautham Menon and his team, the Dhanush and Megha Akash-starrer Enai Noki Paayum Thota will not release tomorrow on September 6 as it was originally announced.

In the release slot that is now vacant, the Siddharth and GV Prakash Kumar film Sivappu Manjal Pachai will release instead. The film traces the journey of a traffic policeman and a street racer who come up against each other, while Malayalam actor Lijomol Jose also makes her Kollywood debut with this film.

ENPT has been plagued by financial issues for more than two years, with many fearing that the project would be shelved. However, a couple of weeks ago, Gautham announced the release date saying that his team was working hard to release the movie on time, and also released a new trailer as well as additional songs to promote the movie. In an interview with The Hindu, Gautham Menon said that he’s a “victim of the business of cinema” and doesn’t intend to nitpick names involved in it. “It’s something personal and I don’t want to make it public. It may still be just bad management,” he said, taking every “wrong decision” in his stride.

But now, because of a court stay and lack of settlement over financial issues, the film will not hit screens. There is still a possibility of Enai Noki Paayum Thota being released on Saturday, September 7.
