Piers Morgan slams Lorraine Kelly’s acting in her Coronation Street cameo

Piers Morgan has slated Lorraine Kelly's acting skills to her face, after her Coronation Street cameo was widely mocked .

The Good Morning Britain presenter told Lorraine on this morning's show that she was "wooden" in her debut scene, which saw Gail Platt accidentally fire an arrow into her thigh.

Rolling a clip of Lorraine's first ever Corrie performance, Piers showed the aftermath when Gail is telling her family that Lorraine was "milking it".

Returning to the studio, Piers snorted: "What an allegation, seems like she's becoming a serial killers of TV presenters on ITV Daytime."

Laughing over a video link, Lorraine said: "I know, she's going through us all. Susanna, just watch out, that's all I'm saying."

"How's your leg after the appalling incident?" he asked.

Looking shame-faced, Lorraine said: "It's fine. Did you see my acting? What was it like!"

Piers then deadpanned: "I've got to say, I didn't think the Woodentops were still working."

Laughing, Lorraine shot back: "I think that's insulting to the Woodentops."

"It was great fun though, and they were all so lovely up there," she added.

Piers then butted in again to share his thoughts on how he should be invited up to the Corrie set to film his own debut.

"I want to be in the Rovers Return as a kind of smoothy, mid-50s love interest for Kym Marsh, I've already said this," he moaned.

"It hasn't happened yet but I'm available. I could be Britain's answer to Clooney."

Lorraine added: "I think Kym Marsh is leaving? Maybe you could come in and swoop her away, like in An Officer And A Gentleman."

"Yeah, like a Richard Gere figure," Piers agreed.
