Another amazing ancient temple is located near the Kintamani volcano. In 1917, the eruption of the Batur volcano began, its lava flow destroyed several thousand houses, but unexpectedly stopped right at the threshold of this temple. Seven kilometers from this place is one of the most ancient and highest temples of Bali – the temple of Pura Tegeh Koripian, which the Balinese dedicated to the god of mountains. A long stone staircase, consisting of three hundred and thirty-three steps, leads to the top of the temple. Inside the temple, you can see many eleventh century statues and various shrines.<\/p>\n
