<\/p>\nAngela Scanlon has admitted she was left ‘absolutely furious’ after BBC boss allegedly called her ‘the t*ts and teeth’ of Robot Wars.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The presenter, 39, who hosted the series alongside\u00a0Dara O\u2019Briain from 2016 to 2018,\u00a0recalled the incident on a podcast.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Angela claimed producers wanted her to ‘bring a bit of glamour’ to the show and asked what she would be wearing to film at the Scottish warehouse.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Speaking on\u00a0Fashion As A Force For Good, in quotes obtained by The Sun, she explained how a friend of her’s recounted what show bosses had called her.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Angela recalled: ‘This person said, “So the show is Dara O\u2019Briain and this chick Angela Scanlon – she is the t*ts and teeth.”‘<\/p>\n

She continued: ‘I remember being absolutely furious. I was like, “There is no way in hell I am walking around in an industrial estate for two weeks in a mini-skirt.”<\/p>\n
‘It felt so reductive and so presumptuous that I\u2019d arrive with my lippy on and legs out to entertain the lads and that was my value.’<\/span><\/p>\n MailOnline has contacted the BBC for comment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It comes after\u00a0Strictly Come Dancing is risking another ‘fix’ row as it has emerged that Angela has dance training and even worked as a professional in a US show.<\/p>\n The Irish TV presenter was announced as the sixth star for the series on The Zoe Ball\u00a0Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 on Monday morning.<\/p>\n But it has been revealed that in 2001 Angela was a trained dancer with the O’Shea Irish Dance Company which saw her perform all over the world.<\/span><\/p>\n It saw her working professionally before she then\u00a0landed a role as a dancer in a US show.<\/span><\/p>\n She performed in the Irish Thunder dance show as Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia.<\/p>\n However after it was announced she was taking part she said that she had never done ‘any of these dances in her life’ – referring to the Latin and Ballroom she will have to take on.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘Bring the glamour’: The presenter, who hosted the series alongside Dara O\u2019Briain from 2016 to 2018, recalled the incident on a podcast<\/p>\n Furious: She said:\u00a0‘It felt so reductive and so presumptuous that I\u2019d arrive with my lippy on and legs out to entertain the lads and that was my value’\u00a0<\/p>\n She said: ‘I’ve never done any of these dances in my life, bar a drunken jive at a family wedding.
