The wicket brought Shreyas Iyer to the crease. But with all eyes on Iyer, his stay at the crease was a short one as Iyer was run out for just 3 off 8. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n India stayed in control in the first ODI of the three-match series, as 100 came up for the hosts in 15.2 overs against Australia. It’s the fourth 100-run partnership for India in the last eight games. The pair handed the hosts a strong start to the chase as they scored in unison.<\/p>\n Shubman Gill brought up his half-century off 37 deliveries. Gill’s fifty was studded with five boundaries and two sixes. The opener brought up his fifty in style as he hammered Matthew Short over long-off.<\/p>\n Gaikwad too brought up his half-century as the openers kept India on course for a comfortable win. Gaikwad brought up his fifty off 60 deliveries. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Needing 277 from 50 overs to draw first blood in the opening ODI of the three-match series, the Indian openers handed the KL Rahul-led side a strong start.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Shubman Gill (32n.o) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (32n.o) scored in tandem as India cruised to fifty. The half-century for the hosts came up in 8.4 overs. Gaikwad brought up the fifty for the side with a boundary past deep point.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The first ten overs was dominated by India with the home team reaching 66 for no loss in the first ten overs.<\/p>\n For Australia, Cameron Green – who has bowled just one over so far, leaked 12 runs. Marcus Stoinis has been expensive in his first two overs, leaking 18 runs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Skipper Pat Cummins and Sean Abbott have been economical, but the visitors are still looking for their first wicket after ten overs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Earlier, Mohammed Shami picked up a five-wicket haul as the visitors were restricted to 276 in 50 overs.
