Holly’s shock exit comes after a tough year, which has included her and Phillip being accused of skipping the queue to see the late Queen Elizabeth II lying in state, a family member dying, an NTA snub and her fallout with Phil.<\/p>\n
Most recently, police rumbled an alleged plot to have Holly kidnapped and killed.<\/p>\n
Following the news, Phillip is said to have reached out to Holly offering a hand of support.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n According to The Mirror, a source said Holly was \u201creally happy\u201d to hear from him after five months of silence.<\/p>\n They added: \u201cHolly and Phil\u2019s friendship was so close before the events of this year.<\/p>\n “Phil\u2019s decision to reach out, and the welcome it has been received with by Holly, shows that there is still a bond there.\u201d<\/p>\n The pair had presented the show together since 2009, when she replaced Fern Britton.<\/p>\n Following Phillip’s exit, she continued to host the show with multiple co-stars including Craig Doyle and Ben Shephard.<\/p>\n On Instagram last night, Holly announced she had stepped down from the show.<\/p>\n As part of a lengthy statement, she wrote: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.<\/p>\n “To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much.<\/p>\n “This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.<\/p>\n “Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.<\/p>\n “Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers.
