{"id":185482,"date":"2023-10-17T21:43:20","date_gmt":"2023-10-17T21:43:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indiansapidnews.com\/?p=185482"},"modified":"2023-10-17T21:43:20","modified_gmt":"2023-10-17T21:43:20","slug":"hema-malini75-through-the-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indiansapidnews.com\/tv-movies\/hema-malini75-through-the-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Hema Malini@75, Through The Years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ethereal Hema Malini turns 75 on October 16, and gives us yet another reason to celebrate her.<\/p>\n<p>We look back at some priceless pictures from our archives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hema Malini tasted success right from the beginning of her career.<\/p>\n<p>After she became everyone&#8217;s Dream Girl in 1968&#8217;s <em>Sapnon Ka Saudagar<\/em>, Hema went on to charm everyone with her beauty and talent.<\/p>\n<p>Her 1970 film with Dev Anand, <em>Johny Mera Naam<\/em>, is a must-watch even today, and <strong>Sukanya Verma tells us why<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/im.rediff.com\/movies\/2023\/oct\/06hema-malini7.jpg?w=670&#038;h=900\"><\/p>\n<p>Ramesh Sippy cast Hema Malini in his directorial debut, <em>Andaz<\/em> (1971), and went on to repeat her in films like <em>Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay<\/em>, and their last release, <em>Shimla Mirch<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/im.rediff.com\/movies\/2023\/oct\/06hema-malini9.jpg?w=670&#038;h=900\"><\/p>\n<p>The same year saw Hema in the Raaj Kumar-Raakhee-starrer <em>Lal Patthar<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/im.rediff.com\/movies\/2023\/oct\/06hema-malini10.jpg?w=670&#038;h=900\"><\/p>\n<p>Hema Malini has played the romantic heroine in over 100 Hindi films &#8212; few other heroines can boast of this feat, <strong>notes Dinesh Raheja<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here, she is seen in 1971&#8217;s <em>Paraya Dhan<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/im.rediff.com\/movies\/2023\/oct\/06hema-malini15.jpg?w=670&#038;h=900\"><\/p>\n<p>Hema Malini in one of her memorable films <em>Seeta Aur Geeta<\/em> (1972), where she played a double role.<\/p>\n<p>It was a film that the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee <strong>saw 25 times<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/im.rediff.com\/movies\/2023\/oct\/06hema-malini11.jpg?w=670&#038;h=900\"><\/p>\n<p>Hema Malini reunites with Dev Anand in <em>Shareef Budmaash<\/em> (1973).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/im.rediff.com\/movies\/2023\/oct\/06hema-malini5.jpg?w=670&#038;h=900\"><\/p>\n<p>Here, we see her in 1974&#8217;s <em>Prem Nagar<\/em>, a film in which she co-starred with Rajesh Khanna. It was the year before she gave us the memorable Basanti in <em>Sholay<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/im.rediff.com\/movies\/2023\/oct\/06hema-malini16.jpg?w=670&#038;h=900\"><\/p>\n<p>Hema Malini starred in and as <em>Razia Sultan<\/em> (1983) in Kamal Amrohi&#8217;s lavish period drama.
