Gogglebox favourite Stephen announced he will no longer be part of Dancing On Ice and has now had to pull out of taking part in the London Marathon.<\/p>\n

Sharing a photo of himself and his three dogs as he reclined at home, he thanked his 270,000 Instagram followers who had flooded his DMs with “kind words and messages”.<\/p>\n

The star, whose ankle was thoroughly bandaged up, explained: “On Wednesday last week during my training session for Dancing on Ice I fell and broke my left ankle.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve had surgery and will be on crutches for a few months meaning, I\u2019ve had to leave the competition which I\u2019m absolutely gutted about.”<\/p>\n

He then divulged that he would also be forced to pull out of the London Marathon.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“I was having so much fun and enjoying learning to skate,” he lamented, before insisting: “I will of course be keeping a close eye on all of the other celebs and pros and supporting them all the way.”<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old added: “I\u2019m doing my best to keep my spirits up and will hopefully be back on my feet again very soon.”<\/p>\n

Stephen put a brave face on earlier this week when he stepped out with husband Daniel Lustig for a trip to the Hop Tub brewery in Hurstpierpoint in Sussex, but as yet he is seemingly unable to put his weight on his left foot.<\/p>\n

Stephen has reportedly undergone an operation to insert metal plates into his ankle for extra support, but there’s no chance of him returning to training this year.<\/p>\n
