Amanda Abbington shuts down feud rumours with Gio and says they ‘laugh a lot’
Strictly Come Dancing star Amanda Abbington’s exit from the show reportedly “really annoyed” her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice as he was not warned she would quit, it has been claimed.
The actress took to Instagram yesterday to confirm her departure telling fans: “For personal reasons I was unable to continue.”
Amanda, 49, went on to thank the team for their support but failed to mention or tag Giovanni in the post.
Now, an insider has said: “Amanda didn’t tell Giovanni she had decided to quit the show. The first he heard was a call from a producer.
“This has really annoyed him. He’s barely heard from her for 10 days.

A representative for Giovanni has told Express.co.uk the claims are “nonsense”.
Express.co.uk has also contacted a spokesperson for Strictly for comment.
The Strictly pro is yet to like or comment on Amanda’s post fuelling feud rumours between the pair.
He did however share a brief statement about his time with the actress on the show after her exit was announced.

Last month, a source claimed to The Sun that Amanda was finding Giovanni’s “aggressive training style difficult to handle” and were clashing in rehearsals.
The pair later shut down the feud rumours on Strictly: It Takes Two with host Janette Manrara.
She said: “Yeah we are [having a good time], we are! We do and we laugh a lot, we have the same sense of humour which is really important.”
“So we’ll come out, work hard, and then we just laugh don’t we,” to which Giovanni agreed.
Giovanni added: “We do have a good time. But at the same time, it’s a difficult process. Especially for people who have never done Strictly before. I always say it’s a marathon, not a sprint. The first few weeks, it is difficult.
“It’s a lot of hours to train, it’s a lot of hours you have to concentrate.”
